This motto drives Drechsel Textilveredlung (TVD), which has invested in an innovative technology to locate fabric carriers in real time. Together with NXTGN and ICTRAC RTLS, we developed a solution that brings transparency and efficiency to production processes.

TVD uses our software inteos^® as an end-to-end MES and ERP solution. It is integrated into all production processes and now enables real-time tracking of the location of fabric carriers. This means no more unnecessary trips and no more time lost searching for fabric carriers and storage locations.

How does it work?

The ICTRAC software, integrated into the existing inteos^® application via an interface programmed by Halo for TVD, enables high-precision indoor positioning. Fabric carriers are fitted with ICTRAC tags that make their movements and current position transparent.

The entire production was integrated via a proprietary ICTRAC network solution.

It uses its own frequencies, offers high reliability and protects against external threats and access attempts. The position of the fabric carriers is determined by triangulation between the installed base units.

Data exchange between two databases

The ICTRAC software also enables data exchange between two databases. Requests and queries are executed via a protocol in JSON format. This protocol contains defined commands for the sequence of request and response. All queries are made on demand, including queries of position data, position graphics, tag status, battery level, tag ID and much more.

The cooperation with ICTRAC RTLS makes it possible to offer inteos® with ICTRAC compatibility “out of the box” in future.

High-precision indoor positioning

The ICTRAC tags can carry information such as lot number, article, customer, QR codes or individual symbols.

Display on the digital site plan

The position of the fabric carrier being searched for is shown on the inteos^® handheld in a digitized site plan, which is integrated into the inteos^® solution used at Textilveredlung Drechsel. Laborious searching for goods is now a thing of the past.

All queries are made on demand, including queries of position data, position graphics, tag status, battery level, tag ID and much more.

The cooperation with ICTRAC RTLS makes it possible to offer inteos^® with ICTRAC compatibility “out of the box” in future. This project has optimized the daily processes at Drechsel Textilveredlung and shows how technology can increase production efficiency.
