How does inteos® Mobile Monitoring work?

The inteos® Mobile Monitoring project delivers a comprehensive solution for mobile recording of defects and downtime in weaving. The software makes it possible to record defects directly on site with a handheld and to document them with pictures. This information can be assigned to the relevant machines, orders and articles. Causes of defects and additional remarks can also be added easily.
All recorded data is stored centrally and can be retrieved at any time. The software automatically notifies the relevant decision-makers, by e-mail or push notification, so that problems can be addressed quickly. This simplifies communication and shortens response times considerably.
inteos® also supports the supervisors on their inspection rounds: defects are recorded and documented on site by scanning barcodes on the machines, resulting in transparent and complete data acquisition. This consistent documentation is particularly valuable for certification processes and contributes to quality assurance.

Implementation and challenges

Implementation and challenges

The new software was introduced in several clearly structured phases: needs analysis, software selection, pilot phase, staff training and step-by-step roll-out.
Interpersonal factors play as large a role here as technical considerations. It is understandable that innovations often meet with reservations, especially at the beginning when technical hurdles arise. The decisive factor was to bring the employees on board and show them the benefits clearly. Well-managed teams understand that such tools serve to improve processes, not to monitor people.

Digitalization is the key to competitiveness

In an industry such as textiles, where digitalization is the key to competitiveness, these steps are indispensable. Especially in high-income countries such as Austria, only companies that keep their processes lean and digitalize traceability and reporting can hold their own in competition. This is the only way to draw the right conclusions and achieve the necessary gains in efficiency and productivity.

“I am convinced that in future no company will be able to do without software solutions like this. Employees should be deployed in such a way that they can make a value-adding contribution in their daily tasks.
Reporting, documentation and traceability must be digitalized and automated.”
